Occipital, Inc. and Inuitive LTD today announced a joint offering that lets manufacturers of mixed reality, augmented reality and virtual reality headsets, as well as home and industrial robots, easily integrate efficient, low latency large-scale 3D sensing and SLAM into their next generation of products. The joint offering includes Occipital’s Structure Core embeddable depth sensor with Inuitive’s NU3000 depth processing chip.
Optimized for Next Gen AR/VR/MR Headsets
For the past year, Occipital and Inuitive have worked together to tightly integrate Structure Core and NU3000 to achieve levels of performance that both minimize host system loads while
delivering an exceptional user experience. As a result of this collaboration, the combined
Structure Core and NU3000 can offer:
Along with Structure Core, Occipital also offers Bridge Engine, an advanced mixed reality
software engine and development platform that is available on multiple platforms to let
manufacturers accelerate development of market-ready devices with advanced positionally-tracked VR and mixed reality capabilities.
Room-Scale Depth Sensing for Robotics
Along with headsets, the combination of Structure Core and NU3000 has also been designed for use in the new generation of robots for both home and industrial environments. In particular, Structure Core’s dual infrared cameras can be used for stereo depth sensing when ambient sunlight would otherwise blind robotic navigation systems that rely on time-of-flight or structured light depth sensors.

Ra’anana, Israel, February 05, 2024 – Varjo, the technology leader in industrial-grade VR/XR hardware and software, recently announced its next-generation XR-4 Series headsets. The XR-4 Series deploys the NU4100 vision-on-chip processor to first bring multi-sensors, low-latency pass-through capability to the mixed reality market.
The XR-4 Series, unveiled at the I/ITSEC conference in November 2023, is designed for industrial users, with a goal to cater use cases where highest-level visual fidelity and immersion are critical. Boasting two 4K displays, the XR-4 headset offers a 50% wider field of view compared to its predecessors. It features brighter displays and a broader color palette, enhancing the overall visual experience. Equipped with two 20-megapixel front cameras, the XR-4 facilitates ‘video pass-through mixed reality’ allowing users to perceive their surroundings through the embedded lenses, offering a unique blend of virtual and real-world perspectives. The device also features inside-out tracking and Varjo’s controllers for seamless navigation in both digital and physical environments. To provide a comprehensive and immersive experience, the XR-4 utilizes the powerful capabilities of NVIDIA GPUs for photorealistic rendering. Currently open for enterprise orders, the XR-4 Series has been well received among key customer industries in training and simulation, defense, automotive, medical, and beyond.
The NU4100 vision-on-chip processor is the third generation of Inuitive’s vision processors series and is ideal for robotics, drones, VR, and edge-AI applications that demand multiple sensor aggregation, processing, packing, and streaming. It is specifically designed for XR headsets, robots and other applications that sense and analyze the environment using six, eight or more cameras, as they make real-time actionable decisions based on that input. The superior performance of the Varjo XR-4 Series headsets is enhanced by the advanced vision-based technologies integrated into the Inuitive NU4100 processor.
“When searching for the ideal partner to develop this platform, Inuitive emerged as the perfect combination of technology, service, and flexibility,” stated Timo Toikkanen, Varjo’s CEO. “Inuitive proved to be a highly innovative ally for crafting an end-to-end vision processing platform that meets Varjo’s demanding requirements.”
“The NU4X00 vision-on-chip series, covering both legacy and upcoming products, stands as the preferred processor for applications requiring high-speed and low-latency streaming of video from multiple sensors, all while maintaining the streams accurately time-stamped and synchronized”, said Shlomo Gadot, Inuitive’s CEO and co-founder. “We remain committed to consistently invest in advancing our vision processor roadmap to drive industries and innovations forward.”

Ra’anana, Israel, January 04, 2023 — Inuitive, a leading vision-on-chip processor company, and Visidon, an AI-based image and video enhancement software provider, announced today the release of a high performing, accurate, and real-time low light enhancement solution the two companies co-developed. The joint solution, now available for deployment, addresses the main issues in traditional noise reduction algorithms for a wide variety of edge devices, such as robotics, consumer electronic devices with cameras, and surveillance systems.
The game-changing solution combines Inuitive’s all-in-one NU4100 vision-on-chip processor which incorporates AI-powered image processing and depth sensing, with Visidon’s advanced low light enhancement technology, resulting in a significant leap in vision technology.
For robots to perform well in low light conditions, their vision processor must enhance and process low-light video quickly – a capability possible only on the Edge. Enhancement includes denoising mixed noise in the image due to low light, severe weather or environmental conditions. Visidon’s enhancement solution uses neural networks to effectively extract signals from the noise. Inuitive’s NU4100 vision-on-chip processor hosts the Visidon solution, allowing robots to utilize it for processing.
The new co-solution allows high-performance robotic applications and enhances consumer communication and surveillance quality in real time, even in the most challenging low light environments. It is a high efficiency, low power solution with impeccable accuracy applicable to critical use cases such as robot use at night and drone flights in the dark, which had only been available in the past via advanced and highly costly sensors.
Shlomo Gadot, CEO at Inuitive, commented: “We are very pleased to have partnered with Visidon, who are a great addition to our ecosystem of software partners. Through our co-developed solution with them, we now offer stellar image quality even in the most challenging light conditions, not only unlocking a huge market potential but also democratizing access to such technology.”
Markus Turtinen, Co-founder and CEO at Visidon, commented: “We are extremely pleased to be working together with Inuitive. Our partnership further expands our reach in the robotic applications market and beyond. We look forward to deepening this partnership.”
Both companies will attend CES 2023 on January 5–8 in Las Vegas. Interested parties can meet with Company representatives at Westgate Hotel, Inuitive Suite 630. To schedule a meeting, please click here.
